Guys have been broken up with, subjected to immortal expectations, and in a few instances, EVEN BITTEN! It seems that Twilight is blurring the lines for fantasy and reality for many young females (and possibly a few males as well), and is merely setting them up to the cold, harsh reality that is real life. Let's be real here. Just like you're not going to fall madly in love with your Happy Meal the next time you eat it, a vampire is not going to stare longingly into your eyes before using you as a human juice-box.
